As Kelly Kadabra, I really enjoy offering something special and a bit different for the elderly and their daytime entertainment. I offer a Magic for Seniors comedy magic show. I am based in Surrey, England and can travel to London, Middlesex, Berkshire and the borders Hampshire and Sussex.
As you can imagine, life can get a bit mundane when you are living in assisted care or a care/nursing home. Most care homes provide some form of entertainment at around 2pm at least once a week. It is mostly singers who come and entertain on a regular basis, and whilst that is nice, it doesn’t make you belly laugh!
But not so with the Magic for Seniors Kadabra experience! Be prepared to be up-lifted!
I arrive and immediately engage with the residents as I memorize everyone’s name whilst setting up. This is not just a party trick, this is to feel more personal and intimate with them and thus creating a nice environment, which everyone relaxes much quicker into.
Then everyone joins in with the Kelly Kadabra Magic for Seniors Show with audience participation, even the staff get involved and have a great time!
I take particular pride in having developed an entertaining magic show suitable for those suffering with dementia. I have often been told that the audience is more animated and “in the moment” than with other acts booked!
Close-up card tricks are not really suitable for most dementia sufferers, or even most elderly people, an engaging show with participation is much more the ticket! Lot’s of humour, magical amazement and fun competitions is the perfect mix to cheer up any afternoon!
I simply love bringing some energy and laughter to the house bound recycled teenagers with my Comedy Magic Show, Balloon Modelling and Audience participation.
* Also perfect for elderly groups who want to have a bit of good old fashioned fun! Or, learn a new skill!
For those with good hand dexterity, why not try a balloon twisting skills workshop experience? Learn the basics of Balloon Twisting! It’s a great way to keep your brain active with problem solving, hand to eye co-ordination and a really great way to show that grandparents can be cool when you next see the grandchildren!
